Abstract

This article provides an assessment of the historiography on crime and physical violence in Paraná from 1985 to 2025. The research is based on the analysis of theses and dissertations from universities in Paraná and other Brazilian institutions that directly or indirectly address this theme. The studies were systematized in chronological order, enabling the identification of trends, approaches, and gaps. The synthesis revealed thematic and methodological patterns concerning the current state of these studies, contributing to mapping their development and future possibilities.

Doutor em História Social pela Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP/Assis) . Professor no Departamento de História da Universidade Estadual do Centro-Oeste (UNICENTRO-PR) e no Programa de Pós--Graduação em História da UNICENTRO-PR, e professor visitante no Programa de Pós-Graduação em História Social da Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL).

Clóvis Gruner , UFPR

Doutor em História pela Universidade Federal do Paraná. Professor do Departamento de História da Universidade Federal do Paraná, nos cursos de graduação, no Mestrado Profissional em Ensino de História, e no Programa de Pós-graduação em História.
