The aim of this article is to analyze the sociocultural relations of Italian filó based on the performance of Filó de Vila Flores, RS. It is based on a qualitative and exploratory approach, having as methodological fundament the analysis of cultural performances, which seeks to verify how filó traditions are symbolically represented and re-signified. It allows us to reflect on how changes in social structures transform ways of making and interpreting cultural identity elements for the maintenance and integration of groups. In this context, filós have taken on new forms, moving from family gatherings to community and tourist gatherings. These transformations can also be seen in the symbolic field, from the elements that make up cultural practices, reinforcing the myths of Italianness and the working Italian immigrant.
