This work aims to establish an interlocution between international migration and the theory of law, especially the multiculturalism based on the Theory of Recognition and the exercise of otherness. In addition, it discusses the liberal and communitarian theories, with the aim of reflecting on the treatment of the issue of human mobility in times of globalization. It is concluded that the polarization of liberal and community theories, by itself, does not account for the complexity involved in international migration, especially due to the various factors that motivate human displacement, in addition to offering simplistic answers to complex questions.
