Education on Human Rights: the use of workshops in the Pedagogues training process
Abstract
This article aims to show an experience report of the discipline Education in Human Rights that uses workshops in the process of students training in a Pedagogy course. The article is guided by the issue, what is the importance of the subject Education in Human Rights for the training of the Pedagogue?, which consists of understanding the meaning, the political-philosophical and conceptual dimension and the historicity of Human Rights in education, as well as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the challenges of the importance of teacher training in Human Rights Education. The theoretical foundation is based on Human Rights Education, the Universal Declaration on Human Rights and the World Plan of Action for Education on Human Rights. The subject taught to students of the 5th period in the Pedagogy course at UEMG in Passos/MG in the first half of 2019 has as methodological procedures thematic workshops with the use of posters, music and books for children and youth. The themes of the workshops were the right to leisure, culture and education, social inequality, ethnic-racial diversity, social inequality and the right to culture, right to difference (gender). The result highlights the importance of the discipline for the training of the Pedagogue, as it generates debates related to society and considers the Pedagogue's critical formative process. In view of the contemporary dilemmas of society, it is relevant to debate the misunderstanding of the meaning of human rights at the conceptual and social level and the challenges of education on human rights in the training of the Pedagogue.Downloads
