Desafios e avanços na formação de professores
Abstract
This article focuses on more than a decade of experience in the training of elementary and high school teachers, undergraduate and graduate students (stricto and lato-sensu) from different areas of the humanities. Its main objective is to analyze strategies and contents relevant to the teaching of some of the themes foreseen for the debate regarding the teaching of African History at the basic education and to analyze aspects to be continued and revised. The question that guides the text was inspired by legislation referring to the subject, from the beginning of the 21st century, dedicated to changing the Law of Guidelines and Foundations of Education: is it possible to teach “Afro-Brazilian History and Culture”? The last few years indicate that it is. In possession of this assertion, this essay documents experiences, doubts and strategies to contribute to the improvement of this effort.
